Power Electronics Research

About Homayoun

I received the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Electronics) from the K. N. Toosi University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2020. Since January 2025, I have been pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of British Columbia (UBC), where I serve as a Graduate Research Assistant and Graduate Academic Assistant in Prof. Martin Ordonez's Power Electronics Laboratory.

I have authored and co-authored more than 20 technical publications in IEEE, IET, and IECO journals and conferences. My research focuses on the design, analysis, optimization, control, and electromagnetic interference (EMI/EMC) mitigation of power electronic converters, with particular interest in electric vehicle charging systems, grid-connected renewable energy converters, high-gain DC–DC converters, isolated bidirectional converters, and power-factor-corrected AC–DC converters.

I also serve as a reviewer for several international journals, including IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, IEEE Systems Journal, IEEE Open Journal of the Industrial Electronics Society, Sustainable Energy Technologies and Assessments (Elsevier), and Scientific Reports (Nature Portfolio).

Driven by curiosity and continuous learning, I enjoy transforming challenging ideas into practical solutions—from the first research question to simulation, prototyping, testing, and real-world implementation.
